Frequently asked questions

1. Online ticket sales and admission

2. Special coronavirus measures

  • What measures has the museum introduced to prevent the spread of the coronavirus?

The Museum Association has produced a detailed protocol for museums, based on the measures announced by the Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the government. Museum visits have been brought into line with these safety standards. The most important measures are as follows:

    • Every visitor must be in possession of a ticket with a time slot. This prevents the museum becoming too crowded.
    • Anyone with health problems – a cold, a runny nose, sore throat, mild cough, temperature or fever (over 38◦C) and/or shortness of breath - may not be admitted to the museum.
    • Maintain a distance of 1.5 meters from all persons who do not belong to your own group, keep your group together as much as possible, and observe the recommended hygiene measures.

Go to our website to read all the measures.

3. General information

  • Opening hours

Teylers Museum is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at weekends and on public holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Mondays.

  • Can I book a guided tour?

There will be no guided tours for the time being. The Lorentz Formula (in Dutch) has been brought into line with the safety standards.

  • I am a wheelchair user. Is Teylers Museum wheelchair accessible?

Certainly: all the rooms are accessible to wheelchair users. Visitors who are unable to move around the museum unaided are permitted to bring one person to accompany them free of charge.

There is a disabled parking spot in front of the museum, although we are unable to guarantee that it is always available. The car park De Appelaar, close to the museum, has disabled parking spaces.

Two manual wheelchairs are available in the museum. Motorised wheelchairs are subject to special rules: it is mandatory to proceed at walking pace.

We regret that wheelchairs with an internal combustion engine cannot be admitted to the museum.

  • Is Teylers Museum easy to get to?

Yes. You can find all the information you need on our website. In the light of the measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, we advise against travelling by public transport.
